Too bad inflation fears & deficits are more important than unemployment. You know what, fellas? Vote GOP and I ‘m sure the tax cuts for the rich and corporations will start trickling down as golden jobs for us all. Read it and weep:

Yet in the 1970s America was at the cutting edge of policies to get the hard-to-employ into work. Jimmy Carter’s administration experimented with wage subsidies, ran an array of training schemes and introduced a public employment programme which at its peak provided more than 700,000 jobs. But these policies were tainted by association with “big government”: Ronald Reagan scrapped them, slashed funding and reoriented training towards the private sector.

I’m sure it’ll be different this time. After all, public unions are destroyed which means private firms will pick up or something. Also, health insurance garden gnomes will help.
